Open Benefits Enrollment

This year's Benefits Open Enrollment will be held November 01, 2023 - November 30, 2023. To make sure you don’t miss any important information during this time, please take a moment to review and update your contact information in MyU. Do this by logging on to myu.umn.edu, clicking the “My Info” tab, and then using the "edit" feature in the top right of each section to change any outdated information. 

Please note: Employees need to re-enroll in FSA (dependent and health care) every year, as this does not roll over.

Time and Absence Approval Errors in Google Chrome

Due to the recent issues with MyU functionality in Google Chrome, the Contact Center has seen an increase in communications from both supervisors and unit administrators regarding time and absence approvals. Common issues include:

• Error message: An embedded page at hr.myu.umn.edu says: Blocked a frame with origin "httpsL//hr.myu.umn.edu" from accessing a cross-origin frame.

• Blank screen or spinning wheel

• MyU webpage not loading

• Employees not appearing under Approve Time/Absence

The timeframe for a full return to functionality in Chrome is not known, but there are workarounds that you can provide to anyone in your department who is experiencing these issues.

• Clear your browser's cache and cookies: OIT instructions.

• Disable pop-up and ad blocker extensions OR add MyU as a trusted site: OIT instructions.

• Use a different browser: This is the easiest solution. Firefox is recommended, but Safari and Microsoft Edge work, as well.

University's Vaccine Mandate Ends July 1

The University policy requiring employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or submit a medical or religious exemption will expire on July 1. Here are some HR-related changes that will take place by that date:

• The Vaccination section on the My Info tab of MyU will be removed. Employees will no longer be able to submit or access previously submitted vaccinations or exemptions.

• The "Employment Requirements" job posting template and the Terms and Conditions section of the job application will be updated to remove details on the University's vaccination policy.

• All current job postings will be updated centrally to display the updated "Employment Requirements" details.

• The COVID-19 Employee Vaccination and Safety Policy Compliance Dashboard for HR Leads will no longer be available.

Use personal holiday time by June 30

As a reminder, eligible University employees have until June 30 to take their personal holiday for fiscal year 2023. Personal holiday balances can be checked and requests should be submitted in the My Time tab of MyU.
